Inviting CVs £27,000 - £40,000 IT, Digital, Specialist / Other Bath central Full Time

We are seeking an enthusiastic digital developer with a solid background in web development including JavaScript, PHP, and HTML to join a friendly team in central Bath.  This fantastic opportunity has arisen due to growth and increasing demand placed on the team.

You will be delivering various browser-based applications and websites to a high standard.  The role is responsible for collecting requirements, specifying, estimating, designing, coding modifying and testing code.

The successful candidate will have a solid background in software development using a range of tools within project methodologies, have strong communication skills and be commercially astute.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce software of the highest standard
  • Work with stakeholders to establish requirements and scope
  • Provide regular progress updates
  • Work collaboratively at all times
  • Ensure all output conforms to accessibility guidelines
  • Be aware of security and transparency processes
  • Keep up to date and share details of current and emerging digital technology
  • Ensure documentation is up to date
  • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
  • Adopt appropriate software quality assurance processes

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year in a digital development environment,
  • Web development skills in JavaScript, PHP, HTML, CSS, Object-Oriented Design, Web Services (REST), API’s.
  • Knowledge of MySQL (+some SQLite, MongoDB, redis).
  • Understanding of Linux, Unix and Windows.
  • Good knowledge of version control systems such as GIT.
  • Grasp of web security principles
  • Understanding of modern web technologies
  • Knowledge of implementing web accessibility standards
  • Experience of mitigating cross-browser/platform issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication ability
  • Proven ability to operate in a team environment liaising with diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience of using own initiative, with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Able to manage time and multiple projects effectively, both individually and as part of a team

£ 27 – £40,000 DOE
