Group Product Manager/Senior BuyerThe Role:

Responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with production, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Manage the group’s supply of products, materials and/or services. In order to strategize with team members to cut procurement expenses.

Key responsibilities include:

  • In conjunction with the Business Unit Managing Directors and leadership team define the product strategy, roadmap and product requirement planning document for the whole group to ensure cohesive planning
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • In conjunction with marketing, utilise competitive product information both in terms of quality and range to deliver a competitive and comprehensive product. Offer advice internally on the competition, market developments and evolving consumer demand
  • Drive and own product line expansion initiatives
  • Coordinate with marketing and product and packaging information
  • Purchase supply of products/materials across the group
  • Communicate with Director of Regulatory affairs and lab to ensure full legal compliance of every product
  • Ensure quality through developing best practice, document processes and liaising with the quality manager, production manager and R&D manager.
  • Analyse and manage supplier base
  • Analyse and optimise market and delivery systems
  • Source and interview vendors; negotiate contracts and costs
  • Communicate supplier and product performances and costs to management team
  • Implement and manage systems and processes for product management and strategies
  • Organize and schedule procurements in a timely manner
  • Prepare and track purchase orders

Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

  • CIPS Qualification or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of margin, profit and exchange rates
  • 2-5 years of previous experience in procurement or product management
  • Product category management experience
  • Experience in industry procedures, costs, and terms
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team managerial experience
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Must be able to travel
