The Great Graduate Contest...
The Telegraph has revealed that up to 270 candidates are competing for each Graduate vacancy, with the overall application level up by 15% against that of two years ago.
A further breakdown shows 270 applications for each consumer goods position, 100 applications per media vacancy and 75 applications for positions within the financial services sector.
Such high levels of competition can be attributed to the recession, which led to many 2009 Graduates failing to secure work in their desired industry. The onset of summer means a fresh wave of graduates ready to start their search.
