Positive Action?
Positive Action is the term used to describe the act of prioritising minority groups when recruiting.
This is a key element of the Equality Act - aimed at bringing diversity into the workplace.
However, it has been revealed that four out of five firms would oppose such action.
Respondents argued that companies should have the freedom to select the right candidate for the job. Some fear that such legislation will lead to a reduction in recruitment.
It was summarised that the businesses are not against increasing levels of representation; however they wish to do this in a manner that they see as fair.
