A long career ahead?

The government has been advised that the State Pension Age is required to rise to 72 by 2030 in order to maintain cost levels.

Increased life expectancy rates have fuelled the suggestion, which has been proposed by the Pensions Policy Institute.

The Institute expects that it will take up to 10 years for the necessary preparations and adjustments to be made.

The previous Labour government planned to increase the Pension Age to 66 in 2024; however the coalition government intends to implement these changes sooner.
