Over 80% of UK business leaders perceive 'dead weight' employees as a primary threat to their organisation. Dead weight workers are those who have become disengaged and tend to be less open to efforts to motivate.

It has been found that the more experienced, and longest-serving, staff members are the worst culprits.

Despite the level of concern, only a mere 10% of organisations routinely take measures to sift out such employees.
