Make the most of mornings...
The phrase 'start as you mean to go on' is frequently bandied, yet not always implemented in our daily lives. It has been suggested that the most successful individuals are adept at time management, even utilising those ‘lost’ moments on workday mornings.
Many workers have a timeslot of up to 1.5 hours from waking to leaving the house each morning. By reducing time spent on eating breakfast and getting ready, you may find from 30mins to 1hr available.
American journalist, and time-management expert, Laura Vanderkam suggests focusing this free time on activities including focused family time, exercise, creative pursuits and strategic thinking; each with a view to refresh and motivate for the working day ahead.
Vanderkam also encourages the use of time logs to chart how you spend your time throughout the day, allowing an objective view at possible areas of improvement.
